Amongst his many influential books, Don Morley wrote two competition motorcycle titles in the early 1980s: Classic British Trials (1984) and Classic British Scramblers (1986). Both are long out of print and rare secondhand copies are often expensive and usually well-thumbed.
We have reproduced the Royal Enfield sections from both books as the information they contain is invaluable to any motorcycle enthusiast wishing to build or restore an off-road competition machine.
We have also added useful factory notes on tuning 350 and 500cc Bullets for competition purposes. This comprises lists of gear ratios, cams, compression ratios, valves and valve springs, carburettor settings and information on racing magnetos.
Furthermore, we have included details and parts numbers for all the original Hepolite pistons used in these bikes. Additional factory photographs of trials and scrambles Royal Enfields plus a collection of period competition advertisements are shown in this new book too.
